Do not judge

Abba Poemen said that Abba Paphnutius used to say, "During the whole lifetime of the old men, I used to go to see them twice a month, although it was a distance of twelve miles. I told them each of my thoughts and they never answered me anything but this, 'Wherever you go, do not judge yourself and you will be at peace'."

So, is he saying, "you yourself, do not judge" or "do not judge yourself." If the latter I am trying to understand his saying in light of I Cor. 11:31. Any thoughts?

I think he's saying what Paul was saying when he said he doesn't even examine his own self, but is content to wait and let God do what only He can rightly do. (1 Cor 4:3,4) I thought this a particularly noteworthy post because of the unanimity of counsel that he got from the "old men". It's definitely thought-provoking.

After thinking about the original post in the way your comment suggested I can see that it could mean he was not judge others. But it certainly could have been translated in a way that would have made this more clear.
